Everybody is waiting for the release of the next-gen Chevy Silverado, which promises unparalleled performance and capability. The new Silverado also promises exceptional value: it will cost $700 less than the previous model.
To develop the new model, Chevrolet focused on optimizing the Silverado’s power, capability, value, and space. To uphold and further the long-standing tradition of exceptional Silverado trucks, the next-gen Silverado offers “more interior and cargo room, higher towing and payload capabilities and a lower starting at MSRP on our highest volume model,” said Brian Sweeney, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet.
Despite its more affordable price tag, the 2019 Silverado will feature an all-new standard 2.7-liter Turbo engine with torque that is superior to the previous standard engine. To elevate your 2019 Silverado even further, you can select the High Country trim that comes with top-of-the-line standard equipment, including a 5.3-liter V8 engine with Dynamic Fuel Management, Lane Change Alert, Side Blind Zone Alert, and an Advanced Trailering System. With the Silverado’s six total engine/transmission combinations, you’ll be able to pick the powertrain that best meets your needs.
The next-gen Silverado is larger than the previous generation, but conveniently 450 pounds lighter. It is three inches longer and offers four more cubic feet of cargo room, making for a more spacious cabin and comfortable driving experience. In addition, the new Silverado offers the largest cargo volume of any full-size truck — including short-bed, standard-bed, and long-bed models — at 62.9 cubic feet.

If you drive a pickup, you need it to have a strong, capable engine. For the 2019 model year, the Silverado engine lineup is getting even more impressive and even bigger. You will have six engine and transmission combinations to choose from.
“A major focus of the next-generation Silverado is expanding the range of choices,” said Tim Asoklis, chief engineer for the Silverado 1500. “With all-new engines and a broader model range, there’s a Silverado for everyone, whether you’re buying your first pickup or your tenth.”
More than half of the all-new 2019 Silverado 1500 models will be equipped with an advanced V8 engine. There will be two updated versions to choose from: the 5.3-liter and 6.2-liter. These engines will come with an industry-first Dynamic Fuel Management system that includes 17 modes of cylinder deactivation.
There will also be an all-new 2.7-liter turbocharged engine that will replace the current 4.3-liter V6. The new engine is expected to deliver 22% more torque and greater fuel economy than the current model.

General Motors has long been a supporter of service men and women of the U.S. Military. Recently, GMC and the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation recognized some of bravest veterans at the 6th annual Honoring Our Heroes Gala to benefit the Smart Home Program and the Fallen and Wounded Soldiers Fund of Michigan.
“GMC’s Professional Grade identity is a perfect fit for these organizations because it is the same philosophy these veterans live by day in and day out,” said GMC Marketing Director Rich Latek. “This mindset drives us to strengthen our efforts and help provide our veterans the state-of-the-art Smart Homes they need to achieve independent lives.”
The Smart Home Program builds custom-designed, mortgage-free homes for some of the most catastrophically injured service members in our country. The Tunnel to Towers foundation has pledged to build at least 200 smart homes for these brave men and women.
Along with this program, GMC honors veterans in a variety of ways. Nationwide, the unemployment rate for vets is 3.7%. In Michigan, it is under 3.5%, thanks to companies like GM, which currently employs about 5,000 veterans. GM has also offered a military discount program for years and will extend it to First Responders starting in June.

Chevrolet has always been a cornerstone of the pickup truck industry with the help of the capable and popular Silverado family of trucks. At the brand’s Centennial Truck Event celebrating over 100 years of Chevrolet trucks, Chevy unveiled a next-generation Silverado model that’s set to debut as a 2019 model year.
The 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 features an all-new design, making room for a brand-new platform, fine-tuned power and capability, and an interior made to raise the standard for pickup trucks everywhere. In order to build it, Chevrolet surveyed over 7,000 longtime fans to see what they wanted in a pickup. This design was truly developed by Chevy fans, for Chevy fans. The high-strength steel body is even crafted from a higher-grade alloy, further improving the Silverado’s toughness in comparison to competitors.
Chevrolet will also be expanding the lineup for the next-generation Silverado model, providing even more trim levels and features for pickup truck enthusiasts, including the new Silverado LT Trailboss, which features off-roading equipment and a suspension lift. The new 2019 Silverado 1500 will make its world debut in January at the North American International Auto Show, at which point drivers will get a better look at the next-gen models’ design.

As Christmas time rolls around, many of you will take part in the classic holiday tradition of setting out with your family to bring home the perfect Christmas tree. However, this can be rather tricky if you aren’t prepared or don’t have a car that easily transports a tree. Here’s a quick how-to guide from Fullen Motor Company to make sure you transport your Christmas tree home easily and safely.
- Wear warm clothes and thick gloves – it’s no fun to be pricked by the evergreen tree’s needles while carrying it.
- Bring a tarp or other cloth to keep the evergreen needles contained and to protect the interior of your car (if you’re putting the tree in your car) or your car’s paint job (if you’re putting it on the roof of your car).
- Bring rope to tightly bind your tree and secure it to the top of the car, if needed. Remember to put the stump near the front of your car for greater stability.
- Plan out your route beforehand, trying to avoid busy roads and highways. We don’t want you to have any accidents during the holiday season!
- Employ the other technologies of your car to keep everyone in the holiday spirit – for example, connect your smartphone to the infotainment system to play you and your family’s favorite Christmas tunes.
- Enjoy setting up the tree with your loved ones.
Happy holidays from all of us at Fullen Motor Company!
